Updater Mirrors: Mediafire, MEGA.
You can also find the full download as always on our Download Page.
(I'm also aware that they're dated 1-27-2015. They were intended to be released yesterday but we ended up not having time to do it, and I didn't feel like uploading them again just to correct a file name.)
Note that you MUST have the Update in order to connect to the Server. Simply place the compressed file in your main UCGO Icarus Server Client folder, then use "Extract Here..." and overwrite every file that's prompted.
Bugwise, this update will fix incorrect speeds for a number of Machines (which resulted in the autoban on the server well, banning players for speedhacking), a fair chunk of crafting errors, some incorrect display prices for shops, and a few other things like the MSM-10 Zock not correctly being in the Machine Shop. There's a host of other minor Client Bugs also fixed in this update, but they're mostly trivial and I didn't think to keep a big list of them as they're just more boring things like "x variant TJ Battleship Engine can now be stacked properly."
There have also been a few convenience edits, such as the Container Size of all the various Elecars being expanded to 100 and their max weight capacity being increased to 1,000,000kg. This should make it much easier for players to store non-stackable items such as Shields and Weapons without the need for a large number of alts. The carry weights of both Ore and Metal have been reduced from their respective 10kg and 20kg to a mere 5kg, so lugging materials around regardless of your unit (as well as lifting them off other people in raids) is that much easier. Mining Vehicles have also seen an increase in max weight capacity.
In terms of unit costs, only a small change has been made - the cost of crafting a SUP Engine or an HG weapon directly via Richmond or Newman is now 50* instead of 25*. This should make those HG and SUP items a bit rarer, as they're intended to be, without taking away the ability to craft them directly entirely if a player wishes to pay the price for them.
This one also includes a number of new things for people to begin playing with, as well!
Firstly, we've revamped the Adrenaline Mechanic. It now not only boosts your core statistics (Critical, Accuracy, and Dodge) that you gain from your Pilot stats as your damage increases, but also reduces the drawbacks of the Limb System at the same time, maximizing the potential for a turnaround as players cling to their final bits of Armor.
Next, there are two new Total Skill options for players to choose from. Anyone whose been following our Forums knows that we've been working on ways to better integrate buff-based and repair-based play into the game using what options UCGO leaves available to us. While the items for use on standard-fare Mobile Suits for these specs won't be available with this update, their implementation with Battleships will be, as well as the following Total Skill options:
- MR - Boosts the amount healed on both Emergency Repair Tools and Maintenance Repair Tools, as well as the ability of Emergency Repair Tools to resist the Mangle Repair Debuff.
- Valor - Boosts the effects of the Adrenaline Mechanic, as well as the strength of the Command Aura.
Speaking of Battleships - you can now buy the (Engine - BB) Vr. BAL items from the Engine Shops in various cities. This coincides with a new change to Engines in general. Now, using a CRT, ACC, or DGE-type Engine in your machines will boost the stat listed in the Engine name by 1, instead of the previous effect of boosting it by 2 and reducing the other stats by 1 each. The effects of SUP Engines are unchanged, however.
The stats of Battleships have also been revamped from the ground up. You can find the new stats for them on our Machine Stats page. The stats of Vehicle/MA/BB weapons have also been revamped, as well as the stats of all CQC and H2H weapons, and all those changes are up on our Weapon Stats page.
There are a few other important mechanical changes with H2H as well. First off, all the units that have custom Claw-type H2H weapons (ie, MSMs and the MS-13 Gasshia) are now also able to equip the (MS) Grapple. In addition, when a unit incapable of equipping Shields makes use of the (MS) Grapple or (RGM-79SC) Box Beam Saber, they are treated as if they have a Basic Shield of the same weapon grade as the (MS) Grapple or (RGM-79SC) Box Beam Saber they have equipped. This is particularly important for the Earth Federation, who otherwise cannot produce the custom Claw-weapons when utilizing captured Zeon Marine units. This ensures they always are able to equip them with some sort of melee option while also giving Zeon players using those machines a choice between the (MS) Grapple and the unique H2H weapon used by that machine.
There are other bits and pieces included in this update but they're mostly under the hood. Our next Client Update should primarily be a content update, we just wanted to get the new skills out ahead of time so players can begin experimenting with them now while we finish up what we're working on, and so we could fix up a number of the bugs that have accrued over time. This update also includes a nice cosmetic update to Canberra to make it less open desert, something we intend to do with the surroundings of other cities in the future.
Until next time though, when we'll hopefully be packing plenty of new toys for everyone to play with!
